Jane Ballantyne

Jane Ballantyne is the Head of Subject and Head of Student Experience and Academic Outcomes in the School of the Built Environment at London Metropolitan University, a position that aligns with her passion for student-centered teaching and learning. With over 20 years of experience in private practice in London, Jane brings a wealth of industry expertise to her academic role. Her teaching covers a range of subjects, with a focus on Passivhaus design, climate adaptation, and promoting diversity in the built environment professions.
As a Chartered Building Surveyor, Fellow of RICS (FRICS), and Senior Fellow of HEA (SFHEA), Jane is committed to fostering inclusive learning environments and ensuring students from non-traditional backgrounds have equal opportunities. Additionally, she serves as an External Examiner at Liverpool John Moores University and University of Portsmouth, as well as an RICS APC assessor and panel chair.
